Anniversary

Today's a big day! It marks our 1 year anniversary of living in Lincoln, NE. I'll find any reason to celebrate with brownies and candles!

Family Visit

I'm a little embarrassed about Craig's post. Maybe one day, I'll get him back! By the way, Craig was joking about the usage of film and the station truck. Both of those statements were misleading. :-)

My parents, sister and her family came for a quick visit this past week! We didn't have much time, but we had lot's of fun! Some highlights from the visit:

Lot's of eating...

Celebrating Olivia's 11th Birthday! I even made a banner - thanks Pinterest for the idea.
At the William Jennings Bryan Museum - my dad's only request.

Michelle and Dad in the "Jungle" at the Omaha Zoo. It was pretty much amazing!

A butterfly landed on Craig. He must smell sweet!

My favorite part of the zoo. The penguins were so cute. The one in front must be the leader - he didn't move the entire time!

In front of the desert dome.

The Winter Quarters Temple.

Tired girls and Grandpa on the ride back to Lincoln!

Better to ask for forgiveness...

Uhh, Hi. It's me Craig. I'm updating the blog today because Erin would never create this post without a little nudge from me (and by nudge I mean me just doing it). Erin was on the midday newscast on Lincoln's ABC channel. I'm pretty sure the newscasts here are just entering the 20th century. In fact, here's ABC's upgraded television van I saw while driving around Lincoln today. Pretty Sweet.

Since the station still records its newscasts on film it could not upload the video to the Internet. So, I apologize for the poor video quality. I had to record the video from our camera. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it.

E-mail

I received an e-mail the other day from my brother-in-law, Tucker (or was it my sister in disguise?). It was kind of funny, but I guess it motivated me to update the blog. Here was the simple, yet inspiring message:

Subject: Update your Blog Please!
Message: Thanks, Tucker

May was a blur for both Craig and me. The first part of the month, Craig spent in Utah and 3 days after he came home, I went to Denver for the National WIC Association Conference and then to Utah for a few days to visit my family! We're both glad to be together in Nebraska again!

Here are some pictures:

Eating yummy pizza in Park City with my sis. We needed the extra calories for the shopping that followed.
Haha... we had a good laugh of all my mom's "accessories" in the bathroom.
Craig before he left for home teaching. I told him to wear his apron, so he didn't spill on his church clothes AND I was trying to be sneaky about taking his picture, but he  totally saw me get the camera out.

The "Chevron"

Craig has been out of town since last Tuesday and won't be back until this Wednesday. It's been a lonely week, but I've kept myself busy (until today) with my most recent obsession - a Chevron/Zig-Zag quilt. Here's the final product!

I sewed it on my NEW Baby Lock Tempo! I love, love, love this sewing machine. It sews so smoothly and quietly!
